ECOLE D'URBANISME DE PARIS
I joined the Urban Planning School of Paris because I wanted to learn more about the design process of urban planning and transportation projects.
National School of Architecture of Versailles
I decided to move back to France after I graduated from CEP at the University of Washington. My goal is to work as an urban designer and as I moved back to France I decided to learn about architecture. My interest for the construction world started with architecture. Moving to Seattle, I expanded my perspective onto the world which is why I studied urban planning there.
Project 1 Semester 2 - Private and Public Places in Urban Planning _ group project
From one blank parcel of 240x140m build a neighborhood while thinking of public vs private space. Each group had a specific FAR (Floor Area Ratio), ours was of 2. With such a small ratio we designed a green and spacious neighborhood which would be accessible for the locals as well as the rest of the surrounding city with higher FAR.
|
How should we build higher and therefore mix up public and private spaces vertically?
We took a FAR 4 parcel that had already been built. The building design was made of a succession of separated 100m2 cubes. The spaces in between are outdoor spaces which can be private gardens or public spaces. We rethought the public/ private spaces organization as to create a vertical neighborhood. We kept the ideas of private and public elevators that would allow the public to enjoy the public spaces and still keep the intimacy of private apartments. We took one part of the building as an example and show how with only two elevators it was possible to lead people wherever in the building. |

Project semester 1 - Three Scales : Furniture, Home, City studio Fall 2018
Project in three phases: from one given home furniture I had to design a home, a furniture and a city, each inspired from the furniture principles. I was given the mirror.
Context: Urban apartment, with a limited living space, one low ceiling second floor and only two windows by the kitchen and living room.
Project: Use mirrors to open up the rooms and bring more sunlight. Play with mirror reflections to see from one room to another one. (Stairs made of mirrors). By placing the mirrors in a correct way the display keeps each room's intimacy. (one-way mirrors in the bathroom) |
I designed a mirror triptych with one central double faced mirror and two one-way mirrors on the sides. It is meant to be placed on the edge of an outdoor covered cafe. Since it would be darker on the cafe side, people sitting would be able to watch passing pedestrians without being seen. This is a way to play with the intimacy and the openness of these outdoor seating.

Study of the metro 6 at Dupleix station in Paris.
Use mirrors to redesign the space bellow the metro line. (Place mirrors on the ceiling and on the side to play with the columns and there reflections) Cover an adjacent building of mirrors to allow people walking bellow the station to see the ones upstairs through the mirrors reflections. |
Construction Studio - Fall 2018 _ Group project
Build a gantry (80cm x 80cm) out of wooden sticks and cotton thread, goal: it has to stand while applying weights on it. Ours carried a maximum of 9kg
UW - Community, Environment and Planning
What is it?
Community, Environment, and Planning is a self-directed, diverse undergraduate major part of the Urban Planning and Design Department. It is comprised of students, faculty, and staff engaged in holistic growth and a collaborative process of experiential and interdisciplinary learning. I personally chose to focus my learning on architecture and urban design. In this major, students are able to develop skills, techniques, and knowledge necessary to be active leaders and conscientious planners in our communities and environments.
Internship MG2, architecture office Spring and Summer 2017
Worked as a project coordinator on the Seattle in Design Festival 1st spring exhibit: “How do we want to live?” + worked on Costco projects (South USA and Mexico)
Digital Design Studio _ In Design, Photoshop, ArcGis, 3D Model, Sketch Up Spring 2017
This course taught students to prepare to meet the varying challenges of the practice world in the urban design and architecture world by working with some of the digital tools used extensively in the professional world. This is a hands-on course in which I developed a working knowledge of several software packages through a real-word case study project that focuses on a variety of urban issues: the Pike and Pine Conservation Overlay District.
Project Studio - Urban Planning, Transportation - Bitter Lake and Lake City, WA
_ Group project
Introduction to GIS _ Fall 2016
Study different districts of Seattle using GIS software.
Sustainable Urban Mobility _ Study Abroad (Summer 2016) |
The study abroad took place in England, the Netherlands and Denmark
We were visiting different cities and learning about urban design, planning, architecture food systems and sustainability through universities, private and public organizations.
We studied notably in Oxford University, UCL in London, met the mayor of Copenhagen as well as the famous Danish architect Jan Gehl.
The trip was focusing on the different transportation infrastructure in a city with understanding the cultural, historical, political, economic and social context of a place. From this trip I was for the first time being able to accurately compare American and European urbanism through public and professional perspectives.
My group final project was to imagine a small connectivity hub in South Lake Union in Seattle applying our findings during the trip. We chose to study the intersection of Denny way and Westlake Ave N. There we proposed a street car station as well as a bus transit center surrounded by mix used development and the possibility of green space with Denny park.

Urban Design and Planning Studio Project
Our studio worked for the City of Seattle Department of Planning and Developmentour as consultants for the neighborhood of South Park. This studio was an advanced master studio I enrolled as a Junior CEP student. South Park's struggles started when the bridge crossing over the Duhammish river closed in 2010 and reopened 4 years later. A lot of businesses closed which created a lot of social and safety issues. Moreover, South Park is located on a hazardous point on the river. It is threatened by floods or earthquakes.
As a team we created a professional scope of work including: SWOT analysis, economic development, zoning, environmental threat (liquefaction) and infrastructure.

Architecture Studio
In this studio, students were taught the different ways architects represent objects in space.
We learned how to draw and analyze objects in 3 dimensions: analytical drawings, paraline drawings, linear perspective, sections, orthographic projection.
Part of the objectves of the class was to learn to edit a sketch on Photoshop and Illustrator.

The final project was a poster layout of Gould Hall (a building on campus) gathering sketches and analytical drawings.
